The Duplex upper platform should be installed on a Simplex recovery vehicle (5 tons minimum), allowing a car of 1800 kg to be loaded. It consists of a Galfan self supporting platform made of galvanized grating profiles of a width of 173m/m (resists for 400 hours in a saline mist). The upper platform can be reinforced using option 810-1030. It is 4600mm long and weighs 1030 kg. The width can vary between 2300 and 2500 mm depending on the width of the lower platform. The Duplex equipment consists of 2 lateral reinforced front flanges with an integrated slide, which has been specially designed to allow the front of the platform to be raised to a height of 873 mm. It is locked into position using a pneumatic system. The front and rear of the platform are raised using 2 metal-coated double-action jacks, during 2 extension and retraction cycles, thus enabling it to be locked into a chosen position with pins. The cylinder rods which are exposed to external stresses when in use, are treated specifically. Front part of duplex is locked pneumatically. the operator can choose the better position in 2 ones, depending on what he has to carry. The jacks can be operated in both directions. Both the hydraulic functions are controlled by 1 independent hydraulic distributor which is installed on the instrument panel. The front crossmember of the platform has a drum, which allows the winch rope to be passed through from the lower platform to which it is attached, as well as 2 removable buffers. 4 standard wheel chokes are supplied as well as 4 articulated shackles which are welded in the corners of the Duplex platform.
